Prowess

She hugged her pain, held on to it tight
Mind you it was her right, for her options were scarce
Her heart told her enough, but her mind loved to amble
And so she carried on in a cycle, with the pieces all scrambled

She heard whispers in the night, voices telling her to stop
No worry is worthy, no grief or short relief
In this battle you’re a prowess, and your valor is boundless
Stride around like a countess; and turn your enemies so soundless

Transform every droplet of every tear ever shed
Into a tributary of power in which you weave and you thread
And emerge from the darkness with the cachet of a queen
The dominion that you harness, is like a new well-oiled machine

You’re a beauty with all your splendor; so majestic and full of passion
All contenders and offenders will surrender, you’re defended
Because in this battle you’re a prowess, and your valor is boundless
Stride around like a countess; and turn your enemies so soundless.
